News 125,000 tickets sold for BERLIN 2018 - upper tier of Olympic Stadium Berlin open due to great demand
Finally, the year of the Berlin 2018 European Athletics Championships arrived, and it begins with record-breaking news: With 200 days to go, 125,000 tickets for Germany's largest sporting event of the year (7-12 August 2018) have already been sold. Something that has never happened before in the history of the European Athletics Championships!
However, these good news also mean that there are not many tickets left for the lower tier at Berlin Olympic Stadium. For this reason, several blocks of the upper tier of the stadium are now on sale. Tickets in price categories 1 to 3 and the popular family tickets are available again for all sessions. So far, most tickets have been sold so for the evening sessions on Saturday, 11th of August 2018 and the last day of competition on Sunday, 12th of August 2018.
Jürgen Kessing, President of the German Athletics Federation (DLV): "I am delighted that 125,000 tickets have already been sold so far. In the history of the European Athletics Championships, such a great pre-sale result has never been seen seven months before the start of the event. Congratulations to the entire organising team of Berlin 2018 for their outstanding work. Now it is time to continue to take advantage of the great interest and make a big impact so that the European Athletics Championships will become an unforgetable athletics festival for spectators and athletes in front of a great crowd at Berlin Olympic Stadium.".
Qualification day "Q" on the 6th of August 2018 will serve as an introduction to the European Athletics Championships. Getting free admission, spectators can experience the qualifiers in hammer throw (m) and long jump (m) as well as the first qualification rounds in the 100meter (m, f) and 400 meter hurdles (m) live at Berlin Olympic Stadium. The competitions start at 4.05pm onwards and will be the appetizer for the following days of Berlin 2018.
